Hey Cinderella

I bought the Cinderella DVD and I watched it last night. It brought back so many memories for me. I remember I had the story book when I was a little girl. The fantasy of finding my prince charming, the evil step mother and the evil step sisters resonated within the little girl. I felt like a little girl again when I watched it, the romance, the beauty even faced with the viciousness of the people who were suppose to love and take of you, I could feel myself in that story and I also feel that way about Snow White too. I want that too, someday I will have that one.

My Evolving Life

I’ve been feeling darn good lately, a huge boulder has been lifted from my entire body. I feel like I can finally put Rick behind me and move on with my life, which is something I have been wanting and aching to do for the last 2 years. He has been dead for over three years now, and I do miss him, but I also realized some things about our relationship and what I truly want in a new one. I also realized that I need to do a lot of hard work to get where I am confident, secure, and happy with me. This week has been a whirlwind of activities that I have been dying to do for a long time. My awesome friend, Monte, has been my chauffer, I am currently seeking to purchase a car, and he has been gracious enough to take me and to also shop with me. I have never meet a man that loves to shop, and no he is not gay, I think that is only a figment of some ones imagination that only gay men love to shop. I got some things that I have been needing badly and I stocked up on them all, especially, my most feared loss of a certain item, toilet paper. Yes, I have a fear of not having any when I need it, it stems from my childhood where we often went without it and it is no fun wiping oneself with odd things. I apologize, I just gave too much information, didn’t I? LOL
Well, on to one of my favorite subjects, MUSIC, I love it. I splurged and I bought myself the new Tori Amos CD American Girl Posse. I absolutely love it, as usual, Tori showed us her passion and zest for music, and what she believes in. I absolutely love the song Big Wheel. I bought the deluxe version, I have the deluxe of The Beekeeper and Scarletts’ Walk too. Check her music out, if you haven’t heard it.

Sunday Serenity #2

This picture that I took up in Northern Washington at Renault Lake at the national rain forrest, somehow brings me peace. Maybe, it is the good memories that I associate with the picture, as well as the image. Water, somehow brings peace of mind and a calmiing affect to my spirit.

Roy Orbison

1. Name a few of your favorite Roy Orbison songs.
Pretty Woman, Only The lonely, Blue Bayou, and In Dreams

2. Tell us one of your favorite Roy Orbison lyrics.
Orbison Roy In Dreams Lyrics
"In Dreams" by Roy Orbison

A candy-colored clown they call the sandman
Tiptoes to my room every night
Just to sprinkle stardust and to whisper:
"Go to sleep, everything is alright"

I close my eyes
Then I drift away
Into the magic night
I softly sway
Oh smile and pray
Like dreamers do
Then I fall asleep
To dream my dreams of you

In dreams...I walk with you
In dreams...I talk to you
In dreams...Your mine

All of the time
We're together
In dreams...In dreams

But just before the dawn
I awake and find you gone
I can't help it...I can't help it
If I cry
I remember
That you said goodbye
To end all these things
And I'll be happy in my dreams
Only in dreams
In beautiful dreams

3. How cool did Roy look in those dark glasses?
yes, he looked awesome.

Questions To Ponder

How would you go about purifying your own soul?
I would spend a few days in quiet thought and contemplation, drinking plenty of water, and be in my own thoughts.

If you were in a "Noah" situation, which animals would you take with you? Which would you leave behind?
I think the only animals I would not take with me would be the poisonous snakes and spiders.

Where would you go if you wanted to spend a week alone without contact with civilization?
My dream would be on a quiet island near the beach.

Sunday Serenity #1

My sister Joy started a Meme called the Sunday Serenity. I thought, I would participate. I have always liked this poem. Not only does it invoke peace for me. It gives inspiration and advice to follow on your life's journey, though the nay sayers and backbiters will stand in your way.
The Journey:
By Mary Oliver

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice--
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do--
determined to save
the only life you could save.

Week of April 15: 3 Wishes
If you had 3 wishes granted what would you wish for?

till next time...

If I had three wishes, man, oh man. My first wish would be to have as much money as Oprah, so I could do whatever I wanted, which would be, to help family, get myself set up, and give some to charity. My second wish would be to weigh 135 pounds and be healthy. My third wish would be to have this court battle that I am in overwith and done, so I can move on.

Sunday 7

Sunday 7:
I saw someone have the Sunday seven on her page, but there was no link to the host or place to get the link listed on her site. So, I do like the concept of naming the blessing of the week, every Sunday, that I am going to incorporate it. Though, I will have to admit that sometimes I am going to have a hard time finding seven blessing for a week and also I might forget to post my Sunday 7. Well, here are my 7 blessings for this week.
1) My friend Monte is a blessing, letting me borrow movies, finding me a good microwave and phone at a garage sale this weekend. And of course, his humor and wit.

2) My sister Joy, who, even though, in the dumps after the loss of some things in her life, still chats with me on MSN and we can boo whoo together and still laugh and give helpful advice to each other.

3) My warm bed at night, with pillows, blankets, and sheets that keep me warm and cozy.

4) My apartment inspection going well and the humor that my manager and repair guy had that day.

5) My negative doubts that happen that give me a chance to grow and develop, as a person.

6) Having divine inspiration in the smalls things in life, my plants, movies, music, sisters, brothers, friends, and even strangers, that let you know that you really don’t have it so bad after all.

7) I am a blessing to me.

Earth Day

Tomorrow is earth day, it has been on my mind since I watched Oprah yesterday and learned some helpful hints, though some of the suggestions were expensive. The environment is important, everything on the Earth depends on each other to live. Balance is the key, I do believe that, wholeheartedly. There are some things we can do, and there are some things that seem radical to the extreme. My mom recycles, a lot. She saves everything possible, jars, plastics, and reuses them, I can see the value in doing that. I do use the butter containers, and yogurt containers as storage containers, (something my mom taught me), why waste the plastic and buy expensive containers, when you are getting two uses out of one product. I have a patio, and I want to so badly start a patio garden. I am in the process of moving, and that is one of the requirements for my new place. I want to be able to grow tomato’s, a mesculan mix of greens, herbs, and pretty flowers on the patio. I would also love to feed the birds too. I have not thought about the canvas bag idea for grocery shopping, that is something I am considering doing. It is not expensive to buy a bag that is big enough for groceries and that will help save on paper products and therefore save some trees. Any tips on container gardening would be very much appreciated by me, since I am a novice.

Autism Warning Signs.

Oprah recently aired a segment about Autism. I wrote a blog about it just recently. This month is national autism awareness month, and I have a good friend, whose son has autism. There are some warning signs and I thought I'd share them with you all.
