Worry

Your Worry Factor is 33%

You worry a little, but you usually don't go overboard.

You know it's good to recognize your fears, as long as you let go of them.

So whenever you start to worry too much, just take a deep breath and relax.

You're not the worrying kind - and there's no reason to start.

Inner Gardening

Diane Dreher takes a look at cultivating your soul, along with the dirt in her book “Inner Gardening”. She intermingles the different seasons, along side the seasons of our lives with thought provoking candor and deeply thought out questions for you. It gives you a challenge to analyze yourself along with the dirt you are sinking your hands into. I don’t have a plot of my own to put my garden tools into and produce my dream garden, I can still appreciate her passion, she exclaims with joy over her found treasures in her garden. She talks about her trials, tribulations, and appreciation for everything living in her garden, even the slugs she despises. She inspired me to make my own patio garden, the one I have been mulling and dreaming about since I moved here to Vancouver over a year ago. I got my list of plants that I want to plant, and I have it laid out in my mind what I want it to look like. I am finding the sacred in what I do have and what I can do with what I have. Dreher pushes through her resistance with grace, dignity, and honesty and that is the motto of her book. Even if you don’t like getting your hands dirty in soil or care about how things grow and in what season, you will surely learn about your own growth with this book.

Quotes For Today

These are some of the quotes that I have encountered in my reading and I have found some keen knowledge in them. They speak to me.

“There are no rules here. We’re just trying to accomplish something” Thomas Edison

“Truth is often uncomfortable. It is only comforting to those who do not wish to ignore it. Then, truth becomes not only comforting, but inspiring.” Neale David Walsch

“The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off” Werner Erhard

“You must speak straight so that your words go as sunlight into our hearts.” Cochise, Chiricahua Chief

“Most of us are so busy running around creating the soap opera and drama we call our lives that we don’t hear anything.” Louise Hay

“Knowledge speaks but wisdom listens” Jimi Hendrix

“If you are going through hell, keep going” Winston Churchill

“If you don’t have must going wrong in your life, then you don’t have much going on in your life” Larry Winget

“Knowledge is not power. It is the implementation of knowledge that is power.” Larry Winget

“All great truth begins as blasphemy.” George Bernard Shaw

“”In order to make positives about your life, you first have to get negative about your life.” Larry Winget

“Stress comes from knowing what is right and doing what is wrong.” Larry Winget

Skeptical

You Are Fairly Skeptical

You're not the type of person who will fall for anything...

But you do keep your mind open to all sorts of possibilities.

You figure that anything could be true. After all, the world is a strange place.

However, you're going to need some convincing before you can believe in aliens or reincarnation!

The Truth Will Set Me Free

What do you do when someone that doesn’t know you slanders you, saying malicious lies about your family and you, just for a few dollars. That is what I am going through right now, my mind is reeling, I can’t sleep tonight. I have an appointment with my lawyer, still the anxious feelings stay. I am angry, I am resentful, mostly, I am feeling extremely overwhelmed by these people who are his family, but weren’t apart of his life, at least his later years. I loved, took care, supported, waited hand and foot for this man for 10 years of my life. He and I had some great times and sometimes I do miss him. The last three years have been obstacles of learning new things and discovering things about myself. I have never been so slandered, ripped apart by anyone in my entire life, especially, by people who do not know me. One in particular person I never met in my life, but claims we have. Greed brings out monsters in people, I am learning that. I haven’t changed, I was willing to share, still am. Receiving those papers, with those words of lies and statements that were so ludicrous that it made me laugh hard, like I was 17 in 1996 and some other idiotic things, but it is that paper with those written words that has brought me to this frame of mind. I am worth fighting for. I am not going to lay down and let someone lie, beat me up verbally, and insult the people that I love and call them liars. I am not going to at the same time reduce myself to the verbal abuse that they are slapping me in the face with. I will be honest, direct, to the point, and blunt as hell towards these two individuals. The truth hurts worse than lies. And I guarantee that this time, no amount, of verbal abuse these women lay on me is going to make me crawl at their feet and retreat, like I did before, when the one accosted me at the funeral home. I’m not grieving, upset, and in any mood to put up with her bullshit. I’m done. I’m not going to let her destroy me, or the person that you claim to love, just so you can have some money. That is not right. I feel sorry for, and deep in my heart, I hope that the two of them find happiness and love in their lives. They are not happy, and it is evident, because of the things they are saying and doing. The truth will set me free.

Underneath It All

The Part of You That No One Sees

You are powerful, passionate, and dominant.

You have a vision of how things should be, and you do your best to make things happen.

People rely on you for your strength. You are a rock to many.

Underneath it all, you aren't so sure about your passions.

So many ideas spark your interest, it is hard for you to get behind a select few.

However, you see indecision as a sign of weakness. So you pursue your goals full force - no matter how foolish they turn out to be.

My Dosha

Your Dosha is Kapha

Calm and grounded, you are not prone to mood swings or anger.

However, once you do get angry, it takes a lot to cool you down.

You tend to think a little slower than most people, but your logic is astounding.

Overall, you very loyal and trustworthy. You're not scared of being who you really are.

With friends: You enjoy their company, but often listen more than talk

In love: You crave connection and affection. It's hard for you to be single.

To achieve more balance: Exercise vigorously (especially in the sun) and let go of attachments.

Signs From A Movie

I see myself in the character of Frances in the movie “Under The Tuscan Sun”. This morning, because I am having feelings that are welling up inside of me, I decided instead of eating, I will watch a movie. “Under The Tuscan Sun” is one of my favorite movies ever, though this morning, I saw it in a whole new light. I got some wisdom, advice, soul warmth from the movie that I didn’t before. Has that ever happened to you? You have watched a movie many times, then one particular time, suddenly, like a flash, there is a new aspect you never thought about before. So, like a student, waiting to gleam from a teacher, I took down my thoughts during the movie.
What fully brought my attention to this new insight was what Patty said to Frances at the restaurant. “I think you’re in danger of never recovering. You know, when you come across those empty shell people and you think to yourself, what the hell happened to you? There comes a time in each one of those lives that they were standing at a crossroads, someplace where they had to decide to turn left or right. This is no time for you to be a chicken shit.” This bold, blunt comment made me realize some things about myself. I have two roads that I can go on, they have been starring at me for a long, long time. I have chosen not to look in either direction. I have chosen to stay stagnate. I’m not blaming anyone for my decision. I have had some great people in my life who have been telling me for the last three years, since my independence day about my stagnation. Two truly awesome friends Amber and Monte, have taken the bull by the horns and moved on with the crippling pains and rejections that they have experienced in their lives and made themselves happier and more content. This ability is something that I admire and respect about both of them. Though they are still struggling, at least they are moving towards the right direction for them. I am happy for them. They both deserve it. My sister Vickie, she is more blunt, but has a heart of gold, I am glad that we are from the same blood line. I realize that I have many strong courageous women in my life, though they have different beliefs, talents, opinions, and paths, they have still stood by me and encouraged me, though I have been standing in the cesspool that I have been in. My mom, Vickie, Carri, Kris, Joy, Sarah, Nichole Amber, Linda, Jackie, Carissa, Lorraine, and there have been several guys too, Rob, Rick, Jesse, Joshua, Russ, and Monte. I feel blessed for these wonderful people in my life.
I’m still in uncharted territory and there are a lot of my questions that I have not received answers too yet, patients is not a virtue of mine at all.
Another good dialogue in “Under The Tuscan Sun” is when she is talking to Catherine. Catherine’s advice from her beloved FeFe is “Live spherically, in many directions, never lose your childish enthusiasm and things will go your way.” I liked this because it is good advice. Advice I need to have injected into my brain and remember during the moments that are difficult. During the movie, I felt Frances’ pain, and emotional depression, because I am feeling it in many ways. So, when she is talking to someone and says this, I am wanting the same things and thinking the same thoughts about myself. “I’m sick of being afraid all the time, I still want things. I want someone to cook for, I want a wedding in this house, I want a family in this house.” This hit home for me, because at this point, I’m sick of being afraid all the time. My fear has paralyzed me from the beginning and it is driving me crazy. And I too want someone to cook for and a family. She realizes she has this, and I am slowly doing the same thing. So, when Catherine said to Frances “Regrets are a waste of time, they are the past crippling you in the present. How are you going to be happy, if you keep wallowing? Go work on your house, GO.” Well, I don’t have a house to work on, so I am taking it to mean my body, soul, and spirit. I have been holding onto the past in many ways, not letting things go. I have moments of happiness, but I also run from it. It doesn’t make sense, that something that I crave, I run from. That is how it is for me, I am coming to the understanding, that I can’t change my past. It was what I was dealt, I had no control, and really I don’t have control over anyone else but me. That is something that I must relinquish in order to find my inner peace and sanity. I have to stop letting these negative thoughts, habits, and people that are in my life go and let them run where they need to go. I can’t change them, I can’t make them be who I see them as. I can see all the things they want and I want them to have it, just like they do me too. It isn’t fair of me to criticize them for the self doubts and self abuse they have in their lives, because, hey, I have them too. All I can do is stand by them, just like I’d like them to do for me. I said that my quest this year was finding my balance, my inner strength, peace, and love for me, well, I have been noticing signs, abilities, and it is wonderful at the moment. Just when I needed an uplifting, I sure got one. In a movie, that I have seen a thousand times and it is a heaven sent to me today.

Finding My Way Back Home

I found this song on my myspace page, I feel that this is a devine inspiration made for me, nah, that is just my arrogance coming out. I have found inspiration in this song though. It is how I am feeling at this present moment. Taking my time, going donw the road that I must, with patience and vigilance. I now have the song and I can use it as inspiration when I have those dark moments in my life.

Finding My Way Back Home: By Lee Ann Womack.

I’ve been hurrying and I’ve been worrying
I’ve been running against the wind
I’ve been betting my soul on long shot road
That a good man never wins.
I’ve been tossing and I’ve been turning
I’ve been burning it at both ends
I’ve been seeing myself in the rearview mirror
And I don’t like where I’ve been.
So I’m taking my time
Holding and hoping and driving and dreaming and loving every minute of it just enjoying the road.
Slowly and soulfully feeling the wheels unwind, finding my way back home.
I’ve been tooling along the two lane.
I got off the interstate.
I’ve been going too fast.
I got off at the gas.
I’ve been learning the charm of the brake.
I’ve been rolling down all the windows.
And letting the world rush in.
The smell of the grass and the fields that I pass and the sun dance on my skin.

Thrills

This one is more correct, I do need an adventure, I need one now...

You Are Adventurous... Sometimes

You like an adrenaline rush as much as the next person. You like your thrills in small doses.

You're generally pretty calm and level headed. But sometimes you have to go wild and have a crazy adventure.

Blue Brain

I thought I'd do something fun...
This is my ideal self.

Your Brain is Blue

Of all the brain types, yours is the most mellow.

You tend to be in a meditative state most of the time. You don't try to think away your troubles.

Your thoughts are realistic, fresh, and honest. You truly see things as how they are.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about your friends, your surroundings, and your life.

Abomination, No More!

“We must cultivate our own gardens” Voltaire Candid (1759)

This quote jumped out at me, like a deer starring at you, while standing in the middle of the road, the stubborn beast won’t budge and let you move on down the road. I have been in a whirlwind of doubts, self destructive abuse, negative actions and thoughts recently, because hey, you learn what you are taught, right? The people who really know me know my past and what my road looked like from before and what I am going through now to change my destination and how I perceive myself and others around me. I put error signs up in my mind all the time, but sometimes I let myself down with the negative shit that seems to pop up out of nowhere. Especially, yesterday, while talking to one of my big sisters, she listened to me whining and I got told you just ruined my happy day. Well, truthfully the sun was out and it was a glorious day, I was sitting at home gloomy because of a certain event that happened to me 3 years ago today and all the negative shit that I still have to put up with his family. Who got the things they wanted out of our house and now they want more, so I have to stand up and fight for myself and what I deserve. Hey, I spent 11 years taking care of him, doing the best that I can do with a man who is so stubborn and who thought he knew everything and bending to his will, so he won’t be unhappy… That was hard work, it nearly killed me, and I am still reaping the benefits from that lousy choice that I made when I was 20 years old. Let me tell the 20 year olds out there, you don’t know everything and the decisions and the choices you make will inevitably bite you in the ass. Believe me, I’ve been bitten a few times. I don’t’ want to be the negative, vindictive, self abuser, that I am inevitably becoming, so I need to reroute the wheel, so to speak. If I am miserable, then the people who I know love and care about me are miserable watching me becoming miserable. I’m going to end up, like Rick, no family, or friends who truly want to be around you, because you are too cement headed to realize the good things and be the good person you know you are. So this is my last bitchy, whiny, and angry blog about my life. I’m tired of it.
I’m hoping that March 12th will be a good thing for me and for the obstacle that is in my way, that we both will benefit and be happy with what happens. I’m hoping to get some of the things that needs to get done in my life done. I hope to be the happy, go lucky woman that I know I am. I hope to stay focus on the path that I am meant to be following. I want the people who are my family and friends to be happy and loved too. And I even wish that on my enemies.
My fears on this new journey is, I don’t want to be a selfish person, not being able to help my fellow man when in need, either. See balance is the key to everything, I believe this with my whole heart. The key, I guess, is in finding that balance for me. Every individual has their own balance and I just have to find mine.

Time To Change Is Approaching

I have been thinking about a lot of things lately, because a major anniversary of an event that happened 3 years ago is coming up again. I hate this time of year, no it is not Valentine’s day, it is a death of someone that was once important and dear to me. The only difference this year is that I’m tired of the remembrance, dwelling, and opening myself up to the negative feelings, emotions, and deeds of this person in my life. The negative things that he did to his family and his friends made him a lonely, self destructive person, and I find myself becoming that way. I can see this, I want to change this, I have been accused from a long time friend that I don’t follow through on my plans. I let things stand in my way, like, self doubt, negative feelings, confusion, and a certain somebody, who in reality doesn’t want to be in my way at all. In fact, the people who are in my life want me to become the Jamie that I know and they know I can be. As the time is approaching, a lot of things are becoming more in perspective, my dream, my passion, my hope, my fears, my challenges, my faults, and mostly my problems that I need to focus on, instead of helping and focusing on others. I am not accusing or blaming anyone, it is my decision and my choice that I have made. It is just time to take the bull by the balls, so to speak and accomplish what is I am suppose to and do what I want to do, despite the anger that I am instilling in my older, and much loved big sister. My family and friends I believe and hope will support me no matter what I do. I don’t have many friends or family that I can count on, but I do have a few.

Somebody To Be

Rob Thomas’ CD “Somebody To Be” is awesome. I love all the songs on it. I felt nurtured while listening to it tonight. My sister Vickie sent it to me, because it is rare to find a CD that you love all the songs from, at least for it is.
This song is one of my favorites and it is called “This Is How A Heart Breaks.”

Don't you wanna go for a ride
Just keep your hands inside
And make the most out of life
Now don't you take it for granted

Life is like a mean machine
It made a mess outta me
It left me caught between
Like an angry dream I was stranded

And I'm steady but I'm starting to shake
And I don't know how much more I can take

This is it now
Everybody get down
This is all I can take
This is how a heart breaks
You take a hit now you feel it break down
Make you stay wide awake
This is how a heart breaks

Don't you wanna go for a ride
Down to the other side
Feels so good you could cry
Now won't you do what I told you
I remember when you used to be shy
Yeah, once we were so fine
You and I why you gotta make it so hard on me

And I'm sorry but it's not a mistake
And I'm running but you're getting away

You're not the best thing that I knew
Never was never cared too much
For all this hanging around
It's just the same thing all the time
Never get what I want
Never get too close to the end of the line
You're just the same thing that I knew back before the time
When I was only for you
